ROUND 2 MATCH REPORT NEW!

St Augustines won the toss and elected to bat on day 1. Wickets fell at steady intervals and they were bowled out for 72 off 28.2 overs. Pick of the bowlers were Ben Skilton with 2 for 3 off 4 overs and Henry Jackson with 2 for 7 off 3 overs. Sam Mathieson was the pick of the batsmen with a well made 24.

Cromer went into bat and were in trouble at 2 for 9. A good stand between Blake Scheffers and Aden Janes raised the score to 54 with Aden scoring an excellent 32. Some dubious calls led to 3 run outs but Cromer were 8 for 97 at the end of the days play.

Cromer declared at the start of day 2 chasing an outright win but the St Augustines batsmen were determined to thwart them. It was a long mornings bowling stint with solid resistance from Sam Mathieson (again) with 25no and Michael Sainty-Cope with 31no. St Augustines declared on 6 for 114 off 42 overs and set Cromer 90 to win off 50 minutes batting. Pick of the bowlers was Blake Scheffers with 2 for 8 off 8 overs.

Cromer were never really in the hunt for these runs and finished the day on 3 for 67. Jonathan Huskins scored 32no and was supported by Daniel McKeogh with 14 and Henry Jackson with 9no.

Cromer won on first innings in a very entertaining game.
